Where the hell these 90s rockstars are …? Anyone…

Jholu Ram is back…err..sorry ..Altaf Raja is back.

Nobody else could’ve made Jholu Ram (from the movie Ghanchakkar.. ) sound so much fun. And he reminded us of all the awesome indipop singers that once defined the Indian pop scene. Do you remember these 90s rockstars?

Baba Sehgal

Remember Aaja meri gaadi mein baith jaa? Rarely has been the act of picking up women in cars as beautifully depicted as in “Aja meri gadi main baith ja” with its sinisterly-meaningful “Pom Pom” squeezing of horn.
He is credited as the first Indian rapper to jump on the Indi pop bandwagon with hits such as 'Thanda Thanda Paani' (a remake of "Ice Ice Baby" by Vanilla Ice) and 'Manjula'.

He introduced the janta or the Mango People to rap and ohh boy, was he popular! People even started dressing like him .  Trust me the dude was cool. And it would be interesting to have him back on the scene. Last time I saw him on air was in a TV serial..playing a Punjabi character…

”Danda pakadke khada hua hai Manjula”, “Dudh peeyega Raja aja Manjula”, “Khol de tu darwaza aaja Manjula” ….. lol

Devang Patel

Meri Marzi  and "Duniya gayi tel lene aish tu kar" these songs  were a rage when I was in school.
The lord of spoofs. How can you not like the man who sang  Madhuri Dixit mili raste mein, khaye chane hamne saste mein

Lyrics of Meri Marzi : nakli daadi mooch laga ke ban jaau main chor
apne ghar mein chori karke khoob machaau shor
paani pe main raashan rakhu muft mein bechu tel
kankar patthar dhool daalkar sabko de du bhel
main chahe ye karu main chahe woh karu
meri marzi
